Come on...Feel the Illinoise!

Mo and I were talking the other day about all the adventures she's already had in her short life. I mean, the child has already visited Idaho. Idaho, for crying out loud! She was not yet 2, and I was about a week shy of 31...and we were both in Idaho for the first time.

We're on a road trip to Columbia, Missouri to be part of Rachael & Brandon's big day on Sunday. We decided to make it a 2 day trip because we didn't know if a toddler and a 6 month pregnant woman could do it all in one. We're SO glad we've been leisurely on our travels, and we're even more glad to have Gram along. First because we LOVE Gram! Second because we're in her car...and it has a DVD player. (Mo's watched TV for about 6 hours today! YIKES!)

On to the real post...we made a brief stop in the beautiful city of Metropolis, IL. Perhaps you know about Metropolis already...home of the Superman Museum and Gift Shop, as well as the Superman Celebration (coming up in June). Most importantly, the city of Metropolis has a HUGE statue of Superman standing - where else? - right on the square in front of City Hall. (Jason visited Metropolis a few years ago...and was more than eager to bring us girls back to see the "man of steel" for ourselves.

The Superman Museum has a gift shop with cut-outs outside, so we got a few pics of Supergirl.
