Molly and our nephew, Jack, are two peas in a pod. Seriously. If you could be a fly on the wall when they are playing, you'd think you were watching a sitcom. They have a blast together, and they really have some insightful conversations.
Here's the one I wrote down as they were finishing a snack.
JVD: Molly, don't touch there. I have a ulcer.
Mo: An ol-sert?
JVD: No. (Louder!) A UL-CER.
Mo: An old sore?
JVD: No. (Much Louder!) A UL-CER.
Mo: What's that?
JVD: It hurts.
Mo: When is it going to go away?
JVD: On Wednesday.
Mo: Yesterday was Wednesday.
JVD: Oh.
