Overheard at Home - Holy Week 2011

This week, we've talked a lot about Jesus and his death, resurrection, and - subsequently - our faith.

We have discussed Passover and why our family doesn't celebrate that tradition, and we have talked about Christmas and how we wouldn't even bother to celebrate that if it wasn't for Easter. And then...she got it. My sweet daughter grasped the deep, theological truth that I have been hoping that she would get...and here's how it went down.

Me: ...and that is why we celebrate Easter.
Mo (thoughtfully and enthusiastically): Mama! Are you tellin' me that if Jesus hadn't died on the cross and rose from the grave, there would be no reason for me to hunt Easter eggs??!!??!!
Me: Yes, baby. That's what I was saying.

Yep. That's our girl.
